February 2006 ~ Colorblock, PM Designs

Using the above supplies, make a 2 page layout (size is your choice). Part of the page should be distressed with the scrapper’s block, use chalks on the letter blocks, and include tearing and decorative cuts to finish the layout.

Fall Days

Colorblok: Cut apart and adhere as shown in picture.
Paint Strips: Cut into ¼ inch pieces. Use random colors to adhere under title.
Title: 2x11 inch vellum. Crumple vellum up. Uncrumple and lay flat. Sand vellum using sanding block. Ink vellum (all over with brown ink)
Lay vellum over the top of paint strips.
Chalk Letters: Place chalk letters on top of vellum to create title. Using a sponge and stamp ink, sponge letters in brown.
Embellish with colorbloks.
I used two of the pictures and placed eyelets in each of them and hung them from my layout using fiber.
Bottom of layout is textured paper which was torn into stirps.
Picture mats: Tear textured paper. Adhere to layout.

8th Grade Memories

Supplies Needed and Instructions:

I used 2 sheets of Glorious green cardstock from KMA, on sheet of Blue Attic Stripes papers by Daisy D, cut into 6x6 squares.  Pictures were mounted on Bazzil pomegranate cardstock and torn around 3 edges.  I took the antiques paint strip and cut it in half using the Creative memories swirl cutter.  Accents with Karen Foster “Memories” magnetic journal and Soft spoken accent.  Finally I added some of the Daisy D Heirloom sentiments stickers.

Come On Let's Play

Supplies Needed:

  • 1 sheet 12x12 solid card stock (Antique tan)
  • 4 scrap pieces of cardstock to use for matting (I picked a blue and off gray that would match the antique tones)
  • 1 Sheet Chalk it stickers (Groovy)*notice L looks like an I.
  • 1 Paint Stripz-Antique colors
  • 1 Colorblock sheet (Snips 'N' Snails)
  • 1 frog diecut and 1 heart die cut
  • Scrapper's Block (For Distressing)
  • Adhesive
  • Cutting tools
  • Pens (I used Creative Memories)
  • Chalks
  • Cut 12x12 sheet of cardstock to 7x7. Make the other 7x7 page with scraps left over
Take Paint Strip and cut it in half then take one of the halves and cut it in half again.

Crop photos and mat with the 4 scrap sheets of cardstock.

Arrange Chalk it letters where you would like them on your page and chalk them with a tone that you like. (If you don't have chalks you can use CM pens or Zig pens even watercolors. Just use a Q-tip and a small amount of water to blend the colors out.)

Take Colorblock sheet and cut out the items you would like to use. I took the sail boat and cut it into to connect the two pages.

I added a die cut frog. Then took a heart die cut and tore the edges.

After you have everything in place and glued down take and distress some of your items to give it a different look.

I picked the heart and the paint stripz to give a little distressing action.

This layout I wanted to keep simple. It is for a man (aka my dad!) and I want it to be something he would like to show off to family or his co-workers. I will be doing some more Layouts to put in his Father's Day gift. And in this case sometimes less is more.
